Steven E Peterson, LCSW, MSW
Executive Director
Steven Peterson was born and raised in Portsmouth, Rhode Island where he graduated from PHS in 2014. Peterson then went on to earn his bachelors degree in social work from Salve Regina University in 2018. He went on to graduate Fordham University with a masters degree in social work. Peterson is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Rhode Island.
Peterson serves on the board of Newport Mental Health as well as Healthcare Horizons Partner. In addition to this Peterson is also a consultant on an upcoming Ken Burns PBS documentary.
Peterson has been the executive director of Be Great For Nate Inc. and program director of ESI since they began in June of 2018.

Samantha Brown
Research Director
Samantha Brown graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in biochemistry, where her research was focused on the peptides found in Alzheimer’s Disease. Samantha’s research background extended to Substance Use Disorder for the summer of 2018 at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is currently a Clinical/ Translational Research Coordinator at the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center, located in Nashville, TN. Samantha hopes to pursue a career as a physician with a focus on working with underserved populations and communities.
